Fake Blood live in Brighton Digital

March 15, 2009

Theo Keating, one half of The Black Ghosts with ex-Simian vocalist Simon Lord and previously known as DJ Touché as one half of the 90’s Big Beat band The Wiseguys, played in Brighton Digital last night under his Fake Blood alias. Even though he was one of the top remixers and producers of 2008, it wasn’t until last November that Theo was outed as the true identity of Fake Blood. Everyone was asking “Who is Fake Blood?”

The night lasted until 4am and his unmissable characteristic bass heavy sound with rave breakdowns and signature Fake Blood name drops sounded absolutly amazing on Digital’s £1million soundsystem. Certainly one of the best nights I’ve had in a long time. So if he plays a club near you make sure you get yourself there!

The Prodigy – Invaders Must Die!

February 26, 2009

Finally the wait is over, it has been 5 long years since the last Prodigy album, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned. Invaders Must Die was finally released a few days ago and after a couple of listens I can safely say that it is pretty much great. The influence of their first two albums can be heard throughout Invaders with Liam Howlett going with the formula which gained them so many fans in the early 90’s. However, it is far from being an old-school rave throw back and for the most part it sounds cutting edge and fresh. The only shame is some of the tracks sound just too much like Pendulum to me. Though the top tracks off the album in my opinion, Omen and Warrior’s Dance, more than make up for this. So just in case you are part of the 1% of the population who hasn’t already, go listen to this album!
